LaythTech began a research and innovation collaboration track with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals to explore applied research opportunities in satellite communications, non-terrestrial networks (NTN), space-enabled IoT, and advanced digital technologies.
The collaboration is intended to connect academic research with industry needs by creating opportunities for joint research, technical validation, experimentation, workshops, and knowledge exchange.
Areas of potential collaboration include satellite communications, NTN testbeds, AI-enabled connectivity, IoT applications, experimental networks, and technology localization. The initiative also aims to support future student and researcher engagement in applied deep-tech projects aligned with Saudi Arabia’s national priorities.
A key objective of the collaboration is to contribute to the development of Saudi talent in the space and advanced technology sectors. Through joint research activities, technical workshops, internship opportunities, industry engagement, and hands-on experimentation, the initiative aims to help equip Saudi engineers, researchers, and students with practical experience in satellite communications, non-terrestrial networks, and emerging space technologies. This effort supports the Kingdom's ambition to build a highly skilled national workforce capable of leading future innovation and contributing to the growth of Saudi Arabia's space economy.
By working with KFUPM, LaythTech seeks to strengthen the bridge between research and commercialization while supporting the Kingdom's Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) agenda. The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for innovation, knowledge transfer, and capacity building while supporting the development of locally driven technologies and intellectual property.
"This collaboration reflects our belief that Saudi Arabia's future technology leadership will be built through strong links between industry, universities, and national innovation ecosystems," said Abdulaziz Alsaeed, Founder and CEO of LaythTech. "Beyond technology development, we are committed to helping build the next generation of Saudi engineers and innovators who will lead the Kingdom's future in space, satellite communications, and advanced technologies."
